Living in Lancaster
A variety of cultural arts are offered in Lancaster County. The Springs Art Show, the largest non-juried show in the Southeast is held throughout the month of October and attracts 700 entries from the Carolina's each year. Other cultural events include Carolina Legends, a bluegrass festival, Lancaster County Community Playhouse and programs provided through the Lancaster County Council of the Arts.
Lancaster County Recreation Commission operates 20 baseball/softball fields, five soccer fields, 14 tennis courts, eight basketball courts, 13 playgrounds, five picnic shelters and a swimming pool. The recreation commission provides a variety of programs for all ages on a year-round basis, with adult leagues in softball, basketball and volleyball. For the youth, team activities include soccer, baseball, softball, T-ball, football and cheerleading. Classes are available for all levels in gymnastics, exercise/aerobics and swimming. Camps are available for sports skill advancement.
Springs Memorial Hospital, located in the City of Lancaster, has provided high quality health care to more than 60,000 citizens since 1940. The hospital's high
